Most visitors to the city will want to know about the weather in Florence so they can find the best time to visit. Well, the good news is that with it’s relatively mild climate, Florence is a great place to visit all year round!
As you would expect, July and August are the hottest months, where it’s not unusual to see Florence weather temperatures reach 30 degrees centigrade. Many Florentines actually choose to escape the Florence weather at this time of year. On the plus side, if the city does get hot during your stay, it’s a good excuse for lots of stops at the pavement cafes to quench your thirst!
If you’re not someone who enjoys the heat, then you might want to consider travelling across late Spring and early Autumn. During these months, the weather in Florence arguably offers holidaymakers the most pleasant temperatures for sightseeing. Temperatures then tend to be more around the high teens and early twenties mark.
However, I find it’s just as nice visiting across the Winter. In the winter, Florence weather tends to be mild and you’ll find the city at its quietest. November and December may see the highest average monthly rainfall however it still only rains for one day a week on average across these months.
Interestingly, for your best chance of avoiding the rain altogether and enjoying the dryest weather in Florence, the lowest rainfall months are February, May, June and July.
