Bookings For You is owned by Jo Mackay. After studying History at the University of Edinburgh, Jo Mackay joined the sales and marketing team at Procter & Gamble. In 2006, Jo and her family purchased a holiday home on Lake Maggiore in Italy. Jo quickly developed a passion for all things Italian and a few years later, Bookings For You was founded. The company initially focused on offering holiday villas and apartments in the Italian Lakes but Bookings For You quickly spread their travel wings and in 2011 expanded their portfolio to include villas and apartments in Tuscany and Umbria. Further expansion followed soon after, with villas now available to rent in Florence, Le Marche, the Amalfi Coast, Sicily and Puglia. In 2017, the company crossed the border and launched a range of villas to rent in France.
Bookings For You now have over 200 holiday villas and apartments for guests to choose from, catering for a variety of budgets, tastes and party size. The Bookings For You team have personally visited every property on the site and can advise you on everything, from travel arrangements to where to eat in the evening.
In 2014, Bookings For You were proud to become a member of ABTOI. The Association of British Travel Organisers to Italy (ABTOI), is dedicated to raising the profile of Italy in Britain as well as promoting it as a multi-faceted tourist destination. ABTOI enjoys the full support of the Italian Tourist Board and works closely with them at all times. ABTOI can boast almost 70 full members to date who between them cover the full range of holiday services to Italy from rail travel and skiing holidays, escorted groups and independent travel, activity specialists and tour operators as well as self catering accommodation providers such as Bookings For You.
In recent years, Bookings For You have received a number of awards recognising their excellent customer service. In 2016, Bookings For You received a ‘Highly Commended’ from the Good Web Guide. The company was also the proud winner of a bronze award at the British Travel Awards. Over 1.3 million votes were cast in these awards, with Bookings For You taking home the Bronze Award for the Best Villa / Self Catering Holiday Booking Company in the small portfolio category. We then won the 2018 British Travel Award for Best Holiday Villa Company which we were thrilled about. In 2019, we scooped a Bronze and Silver in the BTAs and in 2020 another Silver again in the Best Villa Holiday Company category. In 2022, we won Gold for Best Travel Company for Italy Villa Holidays and Silver for Best Villa Holiday Company in the BTAs. Since these awards are voted for entirely by the public, they mean a lot to us. The company’s aim is to provide an outstanding service to their clients and this award reflects their guests’ high level of customer satisfaction.
Bookings For You are also pleased to welcome international travellers and, as well as English speaking representatives, they have Italian and French speaking representatives.
Bookings For You is not a typical ‘9 to 5’ business. Recognising that planning a holiday doesn’t fit within normal office hours, Jo personally aims to be contactable every day of the week, both during the day and in the evening. She will do her best to answer any question you might have about any aspect of your holiday. If she doesn’t know the answer, rest assured she will do the research to find it out!
