If you’re anything like us, your summer packing list probably looks fairly similar year-on-year; flip-flops, books, swimwear, suncream… but we’re big advocates of mixing things up. With this in mind, we take a look at some of the best gadgets around which can help enhance your holiday, from the boringly practical to the downright run (selfie drone, anyone?). We can only apologise in advance for adding yet more stuff to your packing list (and to your postman, for the subsequent deliveries…)
USB Charger
Ideal for families travelling with multiple devices — but not necessarily wanting to pack multiple chargers for said devices — this plug will allow you to charge all your technology at the same time. Not only will it save you valuable suitcase space, it’ll also prevent arguments about who gets to charge first. Nifty, eh?
GPS Tracker
If you’re a frequent flyer — or prone to having your luggage go AWOL — this GPS tracker will allow you to track your suitcase on your smartphone device. Whilst definitely a luxury item, this product gets bonus points for making you feel like an international spy.
Bluetooth Speaker
Whether you want to serenade a romantic dinner for two or liven-up your lazy pool-side afternoon, a bluetooth speaker is a useful gadget to pack for your holiday. Our choice below is particularly good because it’s waterproof — we don’t want to point fingers, but accidents happen.
Camera Drone
Selfie-sticks are SO 2016… Take your holiday pictures to the next level (literally) with a camera drone, and capture a truly unique perspective of your travels.
Clip-on Phone Lens
On the subject of photography, you can upgrade your phone camera’s capabilities with a wide variety of clip-on lenses — from fish-eye, to wide angle to telephoto zoom — which means that you can venture out without lugging a heavy camera with you.
Digital Luggage Scales
Great for checking your suitcases are within the weight limit before you fly, packing a luggage scale will also mean that you can check whether your suitcases are still under after your holiday shopping. There’s nothing worse than having to redistribute your suitcase weight at the check-in desk.
