Villa Monate is a beautiful Lake Monate villa. Positioned directly on the lake, it offers guests an idyllic and peaceful holiday in the Italian Lakes. The large, private garden slopes gently to the lakeside where guests will find a pedalo to allow you to explore the lake waters. Inside, stepping into Villa Monate is like stepping back into an elegant, bygone era. This Lake Monate villa really does have a very special feel to it.
Guests enter into rather a grand entrance hall. To the right of this hallway is a newly refurbished WC and a small kitchen that dates back to the 1950s. Red and white units give a nod to a bygone era. It is full of charm but it is also functional. It boasts two ovens and has a large fridge and freezer. It also has direct access to the outside, making it ideal for anyone looking to hire caterers during their stay.
Adjacent to the kitchen is a beautiful dining room. A large table takes centre stage that seats up to 10 guests on stunning embroidered chairs, whilst a grand piano sits in the corner. Dual aspect stained glass windows add an incredible light and colour to the space whilst a chandelier overhead adds glamour. There is a small conservatory leading off this room which enjoys direct access down to the garden.
Finally on the ground floor of this Lake Monate villa is a traditional parlour room, furnished with circular table, sofas and chairs. There is a TV here.
A lift or grand, sweeping staircase, takes guests from the entrance hall to the first floor of this Lake Monate villa.
On the first floor, there are double bedrooms. The first is furnished with a brass bed and large wardrobes. It has a balcony overlooking the garden along with a new, modern bathroom with shower. An adjacent bedroom has a double bed and is traditionally but tastefully furnished. It also has a shower room.
Finally on this floor, a laundry area can be furnished with an additional single bed and would be suitable for a teenager or nanny if needed.
The lift or stairs takes guests to the second floor of this Lake Monate villa. Here there are two large double bedrooms. There are also two bathrooms on this door, both with showers. There is also a third, smaller double bedroom on this floor at the rear of the villa.
Outside, there is a stunning private garden which leads directly to the water's edge. A fountain adds glamour to the space whilst mature shrubs and plants ensure absolute privacy from any neighbours. There are a number of seating areas to choose from. A circular gazebo is a great space for breakfast whilst we love the lakeside covered terrace or lakeside dining area for meals in the evening.
This Lake Monate villa enjoys direct access to the lake water. A pedalo is available for guests to use, allowing you to explore the entire lake. A bocce court is also positioned to one side of the garden for your added enjoyment.
Lake Monate is simply stunning. It is incredibly clean thanks to the fact that motor boats are not allowed. However, kayaks, pedaloes and rowing boats certainly are so guests will be able to get out on the lake to their heart's content.
Milan Malpensa is the closest airport and is only a 30 minute drive from this Lake Monate villa. There is plenty to see and do during a stay here. It's within 4 km of the Riserva Naturale Palude Brabbia and is also within easy reach of other Italian Lakes including Lake Comabbio. La Pizzeria della Piazza is an authentic Italian pizzeria offering good quality Italian food. It is situated approximately 8 minutes away on foot. It is also a short 5 minute drive to the Travedone Golf Course, which serves excellent lunch. The nearest bus stop is Travedona Via Trieste.
