At the heart of the Montefeltro area, where the borders of Le Marche, Tuscany and Umbria join together is the 13th-century village Castello della Pieve and this historic stone 4 bedroom villa sleeping up to 9 people, the perfect choice for a relaxing holiday surrounded by nature.
Relais Castello della Pieve is a stunning stone house that will take you back in time, located in a charming historical village and with breathtaking views over the mountains of Montefeltro, the area that inspired Piero della Francesca for many of its paintings! nnTo the rear of the villa is a beatiful garden where guests can enjoy some of these spectacular views, while relaxing at the pool or eating outside. There is a table with chairs and sofas, as well as a number of sun loungers and a heated pool with jacuzzi and against-the-current swimming equipment.

Also on this floor is a bathroom. On the first floor is a traditional kitchen that opens to the dining area with a beautiful stone fireplace set to one side of the central table. There is also a double bedroom with en suite bathroom and a loft with two twin beds, perfect for a family with children. Another loft room has a double bedroom with en suite bathroom and a single bed.
The villa has preserved the rural decor of traditional stone houses, but particular attention to detail has been paid. As an example, all the bathrooms have handcrafted sinks and comfortable showers in stone and crystal.
The stunning area of Montefeltro is the perfect choice for all nature lovers. If you are looking for an active holiday and you would like to go trekking or if you are simply interested in discovering some amazing unspoilt places, this is the right area for you. The seaside is 80 km from here, but you could still go for a swim in the nearby bathing river, a beautiful spot with natural waterfalls, and if you are interested in golf, we suggest you try out the Golfe Course Alpe della Luna (9 holes) in the amazing Natural Regional Reserve Alpe della Luna.
However, Montefeltro is famous not only for its unspoilt natural landscapes, but also for its historical importance. This is the area that once belonged to the Duke of Urbino, Federico. This town is a real gem and since 1999 has been one of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Urbino is just a 50 minute drive and here you will have the chance to visit the famous Ducal Palace, now hosting works from Titian and Piero della Francesca, and Raphael's birthhouse. On your way there you will also see picturesque villages such as Mercatello sul Metauro, awarded with the Orange Flag from the Italian Touring Club, and Sant'Angelo in Vado. However, the small village Castello della Pieve, where the villa is located, is also worth a visit! Not only is it a charming, well-preserved medieval village on the top of a hill, but it is also the place where Charles of Valois, brother of the King of France, and Corso Donati met in 1301 and decreed the exile of Dante Alighieri from Florence. During your visit we suggest you try "Il girone dei golosi" (literally "the gluttony circle" from Dante's Inferno) for lunch, a cosy restaurant where you will enjoy some tasteful traditional dishes of this area.
