This is a luxurious 2 bedroom apartment in Montefalco in the heart of Umbria. Within walking distance of a host of superb restaurants, charming shops, cafes, it's an ideal location for those looking to really get a feel for the Italian way of life during their stay. It was been completely renovated in 2019 to an extremely high standard and boasts all the mod cons holidaymakers could wish for including Meile kitchen appliances and even its own sauna!
The apartment is situated within the heart of Montefalco, nestled inside the city's Medieval walls. The apartment comprises two spacious bedrooms, each with their own bathroom as well as a living room, dining room, well equipped kitchen and laundry room. The kitchen boasts Meile appliances, coffee maker and kettle. The master bedroom even boasts its own sauna. In total, the apartment measures over 140 square metres and offers spacious accommodation for up to 4 guests. The apartment is situated within a historic building dating back to the 13th or 14th century however it certainly boasts all the modern 21st century amenities guests are looking for including underfloor heating throughout for those staying in the Winter months and air conditioning for those staying during the Summer. The apartment is perfect for one or two couples or a family with children.
Montefalco itself is relatively free of tourists despite its beauty. It is affectionately known as the 'balcony of Umbria' enjoying spectacular views of the valley below, famous for the Sagrantino wine and local olive oil. As well as being within walking distance of all that Montefalco offers (including a host of shops such as a butcher, baker, pharmacy, food store, pasta shop, ice cream shop, wine store and post office as well as numerous excellent restaurants), Casa Clarignano is perfectly situated for exploring the wider central Italian region. It is within 15 minutes of the lovely town of Bevagna and the train station in Foligno and within an hour of Spello, Spoleto, Assisi, and Perugia. It is also within two hours of Rome, Florence, Ancona, Orvieto and all that Umbria and Tuscany have to offer. Please note that check in is normally between 3 pm and 8 pm. For any arrivals after 8 pm, there is a late check in fee of 20 euros payable locally to Marina who will welcome you to the apartment.

Casa Clarignano is even more beautiful then how it’s described. It has all the amenities anyone would want in their own home. I was there for one week in October and enjoyed the beauty, good food, delicious wine, amazing views that Montefalco has to offer. Will return soon.

La casa si trova in un borgo molto bello e fresco. L’appartamento è ampio e dotato di tutti i comfort. Dispone di tutti gli elettrodomestici e qualsiasi cosa sia necessaria, dal phone ai detersivi. L’ambiente è molto curato. La posizione poi di Montefalco è strategica per girare tutta l’Umbria. Non abbiamo mai avuto problemi di parcheggio, sempre gratuito a qualsiasi ora. Assolutamente da consigliare.

I recently had the pleasure of traveling to Italy, visiting the charming town of Montefalco and staying at the fantastic Casa Clarignano. I can’t say enough good things about the apartment and the town of Montefalco.
Casa Clarignano is a two bedroom, two bathroom apartment on a quiet side street in Montefalco. The apartment is quite luxurious in its furnishings and has recently been completely renovated. The apartment offers the best of all worlds. Traditional Umbrian town outside and modern luxury inside. A fully equipped kitchen, washer/dryer, cable tv and WiFi make this an ideal “home” base for exploring this area of Italy. Lastly, the property manager, Marina, is there for anything you might need and is frankly an expert on recommendations in the area.
Montefalco is a small hill town in Umbria, approximately two hours north of Rome and two hours south of Florence. Montefalco is located in the heart of wine and olive country and while you are there be sure to treat yourself to some of the fantastic Sagrantino wines. Two of my favorites were Romanelli and Antonellli. While a small community, Montefalco boasts a number of fantastic restaurants (don’t miss out on A meal at La Alchemista) and shops and the proprietors of these establishments treat you like friends! The location of Montefalco also allows for easy travel to a number of other charming towns like Orvieto, Assisi, and my personal favorite – Todi.
Treat yourself to a fantastic stay in Montefalco and feel completely “at home” at the fantastic Casa Clarignano. It will be a vacation you won’t soon forget!
